I purchased this fan with the intent that the 100 watt lightwould be the only light for my living room and I wanted a dimmer.The brightness of the light and the fan operation are all I could ask for.Beside the fact that the upper housing rubbed on the fan and needed bendingthe only real problem is the remote control.There are only two buttons, one for the light and one for the fan.The light comes on at the brightness that is was at when you turned it off.The problem is that with only one button you have to hold the button downwhile it cycles in the direction you were last going either up or down past20% and 100% brightness to get where you want.One button for up and one fordown would have been much better.The fan control is pretty much the same but you start at high speed and eachtime you push the button you go down one speed until it goes off.The problem here is if the remote isn't pointed towards the fan some times itwon't change speed but the remote says it did on the LCD display.No problem with the light, it works from the other room.This fan moves a lot of air and with the manual switch to change the directionfrom summer to winter I saw able to heat my entire small two bedroom house with thewall furnace, not just the living room!To sum up,I recommend this fan even tho it was pricy. I spent $250 with very fastfree shipping.
