Impressive air movement for a small fan in a small room

We bought the Ashlyn fan for our daughter's room because the 42" diameter was a perfect size and the overall look was feminine. At first we researched hugger fans but the amount of air that is moved increases when the blades are not so close to the ceiling. The way to compare fans is by finding the airflow, and the manufacturer has these numbers. The Ashlyn moves air very well even on low speed, here are its ratings: Low: 2339 CFM, Medium: 4725 CFM, High: 4554 CFM. The glass bowl is frosted glass with some random swirls in white. The Ashlyn is quiet, it works great, and it is very pretty. We couldn't ask for anything more! (BTW, if you're researching this fan and are tempted to pay more than $100 for it...don't. There is a big discrepancy in price from one retailer to another. We found it online at the big orange box for $70 shipped. A deal!)

After being impressed with the Hunter fans that came with our house, I purchased two of these for the smaller bedrooms on our second floor, which often stays too warm during the summer nights. The fans have been working perfectly (efficient and quiet) and look great too. This model can move quite a bit of air on the "high" setting. We had some issues with the Hunter remote control receivers, but the fans themselves are fine. Very happy to have all-night comfort without air-conditioning the whole house just for the upper floor.

Good, cheap fan

We bought this fan for our daughter's nursery with the Hunter H23993 mix+match kids(tm) 42-Inch Blades Moon & Stars/Jungle. Fan assembly was pretty easy. One feature that I love about this fan is that it has little tabs in the ceiling brace that it hangs from while you connect all the wiring. It's a nice, simple fan with only a couple of minor drawbacks. First is that the short downrod included isn't supposed to screw all the way into the fan. In fact, it's only supposed to screw in about 1/3 of the way, with another 2/3 of the thread showing. It's very unfinished-looking when it's like that. My wife and I also noticed that it casts some heavy shadows when used with the downrod, which I have not seen on any of the other ceiling fans I have installed (too many to count). Once I took out the downrod and did the flush mount install, everything was okay. One other thing that I noticed was that the little screw-in piece that holds the bowl up was really tight out of the box. I had to use some paper towels and a wrench to get it loosened up (the paper towels were used to keep from scuffing the piece).Other than the 2 minor items, this fan works great. On the high setting, it will actually push paper around the room! With the aforementioned blades, this fan is great!
