Great complimentary piece

This ceiling fan's light kit is a great match for several other light fixtures I purchased (by Harbor House). Was able to do a complete lighting package for a remodel. I put this fan in the family room and was delighted to find that the reverse side of the blades were a perfect color match to the room's hardwood floors. Beautiful, with reasonably good quality. But for the money, I just wish it was a 52" fan.

Obsolete or closeout?

I intended this fan to be installed in a room having a 16-foot ceiling. I went to purchase the downrods and found that all fans for the past three or four years have been manufactured with a 3/4" inner dimeter mounting rod. This fan comes with a 1/2" inner diameter rod that were discontinued. I went to the Hardware House web site hoping to find the 1/2" downrods but even Hardware House lists only the 3/4" downrods. My only option would have been to jury-rig something with plumbing pipe - not what is desired for a new installation. The product description should contain information as to the downrod size so that the consumer can make an informed decision about the application for the product. This unit would have been fine in an 8' or 9' foot ceiling room since it could have been installed without additional downrods.Additionally, one of the two fans I purchased had a screw rattling around in the fan housing and two blade attach screws missing (probably rattling around in the housing). Needless to say, I returned both fans.

I bought this fan with high hopes. It looks nice, and thought it would be fine for my loft. Unfortunately, it looks cheap, and makes a lot of noise when on. It also doesn't produce much relief on a hot day. I would suggest going with another fan over this one.
