Looks & Works Great-Bad Instructions

This ceiling fan replaces a 15 year old one that has gone belly-up. We've put up a few ceiling fans in the past 15 years, and this was the most difficult one by far. The instructions had missing steps and we had to figure it out by trial and error and it took much longer to install than it should have.The fan chain comes down through the metal disk and then goes through the decorative cover plate below the glass bowl, and this makes the chain operation of the ceiling fan difficult-it pulls harder than it should since this configuration puts the chain at an angle. I don't like this design. The pull chain for the light fixture comes straight down and is no problem.And be forewarned, it doesn't take standard light bulbs-you have to use 2 B10 candelabra bulbs (60 Watt Max) that I just happened to have some spare ones around. This doesn't put out as much light as a standard light bulb would. This is a little disapointing.On the plus side we didn't have to use the balancing kit for the blades-there was no wobble. It's very quite-you cannot hear anything at all. It has a beautiful antique gold finish and the oak side of the blades we chose looks like real wood.You can mount this one of 3 ways: Flush, Standard, or Angled. With or without light fixture. Everything is in the box. You just need to read between the lines in the instruction manual.It's nice to look at and fits our redecorated decor, but will it stand the test of time? I guess we'll wait and see.

Nice Fan

Fan is very attractive. Installation instructions were a bit vague but adequate. Be aware that this fan only takes two light bulbs so it can seem a bit dim. To overcome this I switched to two CFLs, which improved light output dramatically.
