4Nice Fan For The Price
By Craig
The Hunter Domino is one of two Hunter fans I recently purchased from Amazon (the other being a different model). It looks like a $300+ fan for half the price. It was hard to find a modern and attractive fan without a remote control, which I didn't need because my home is pre-wired with wall controls for the fan and light. But Hunter has a few of them to choose from. I like the up and down lighting - you don't see a fan with both often. The light kit takes candelebra bulbs (included) and the max is just 40 watts, though you do get four of them. There are two in the up light and two in the down light. 40 watt candelebra bulbs have a fairly low lumen rating in the supplied incadescent form. The light is adequate in the 100 sq. ft. room this fan is installed in, but if you have a larger room and/or need more light you can swap the supplied incadescents with halogens which will give you more light at the same wattage. Either way, don't plan on reading a book in a room where this is the only light source. There's no escaping that reality - a recent law limits the type and amount of light all new fans can provide. You get three speeds - low, medium, and high, selected by pull chain. The fan is also reversable for winter, which spins the blades clockwise and forces the hot air that rises to the celing back down to you. You'll want to run the fan on low speed in this mode. This brings me to this fan's one down side. The switch to reverse the fan for winter mode is inside the bottom light. This forces you to remove the light cover each time you want to reverse the fan's direction. That's pretty bad functional design but you can live with it, as you'll only need to do it twice a year. It looks just as pictured and it's gorgeous (the only thing not accurately pictured is that there will be hang chains through the metal bottom cap of the light). You can't go wrong with the Domino. It's not the best fan out there (the best cost hundreds more), but it's a good one and a steal at this price range. It thus earns four stars.

1ANNOYING FAN
By Danielle Sharp
This fan rattles and makes strange noises nightly! My husband has to jiggle the strings, adjust the glass parts, and sometimes bang it to get it to stop. It looks great, but I'd rather have something ugly and quiet, I would avoid this fan! The problem is that the glass pieces come out of place and internally the strings hit something.

4Neat looking fan and good quality
By Joseph Lee
I purchased this eight months ago, and it has worked perfectly. It doesn't provide a lot of light, and my biggest disappointment has been that the space in the glass is so efficiently designed that you cannot fit compact fluorescent candelabra bulbs. If you switch back and forth between winter and summer settings, however, you'll be annoyed because you have to take the glass off to get to the switch. The pull mechanism feels much higher quality than all of our cheap fans (smooth, easy to switch) and the multiple light options are neat. Nary a rattle or rock. I'm very pleased with the install, which provided a nice stabilizer and anti-rattle systems. I'd buy it again!
