We got this fan for a living room with a fireplace and an 18 ft ceiling. We needed it to circulate the heat better. We didn't want a light due to it being too high to change the light bulb. It did not require any balancing and you cannot hear it. It runs all day every day and performs great.

By AWP17
I have purchased three of these fans. It is a wonderful fan, powerful, quiet, and looks fantastic. The big problem is and I will never buy another hunter fan again is the mounting system. IT is so hard to install with their mounting equipment. They tried to copy casablancas mounting system where the canopy is used to hang the fan, Casablancas is easy, plop the fan on the canopy, wire it up and close the canopy. Hunters is impossible, Even with the little hook they have. Basically you mount the bracket to a stud (easy) then put a partially assembled fan on this little hook, and wire the fan. After wiring you need to lift the fan and try and line up these three tiny hooks and twist, Thats a lot of work when your 18 feet in the air trying to install the fan, What was wrong with the bracket that you just set the fan in, then wire, and then screw the canopy in to place to cover the wires? That way you only need to hold the fan for 2 seconds, and set it in place, easy, and secure. This way is way over troublesome when from what I can see, not any superior to any other mounting system. I love the fans, But will never purchase again due to this stupidly designed mounting system.
