Favorite Ceiling Fan

This ceiling fan is perfect with our country French decor. The lighting is low but very beautiful and I don't mind that since we have many lamps in our family living room. If you're looking for a fixture to light the room brightly this may not be the one for you. The fan is extremely quiet. This particular fan was a little difficult to install even for my electrical handyman husband, but we are enjoying it very much.

Excellent fan!

I'm sitting under the fan now, and enjoying the quiet, cooling breeze. The air movement is refreshing, but not obnoxious. The fan was easy to install, though the instructions could have been more helpful. We've used the fan in a 12' x 11' room for several months now, and it's perfect. It could handle a somewhat larger room on a higher setting. The old one drove me nuts with it's noise (20 years old!), but this one is very quiet. It's saved us a lot as our AC can be set a bit higher or turned off when the fan is running.

Ceiling Fan for small room

I purchased two for a couple of small rooms. I was so pleased I bought 3 more. They all arrived on time as promised. I am technically challenged, so it took about an hour each to assemble and install. I had to read the instructions carefully and slowly but I did fine with them. They are quiet and easy to operate and fit the rooms that are all about 100 sq. ft. just fine. Although I didn't need them, there was one extra assembly screw and attachment for the blades in each fan. I like that. Too often one is missing. The fan was on sale, so I got a great deal and free shipping with the purchase of two. There are not a lot of options for 36 inch fans. No complaints, only praise.

Horses for Courses

The small diameter of these fans obviously limits their application and they are much better suited to small rooms or areas. Originally intended for two of them to hang in my sun room but eventually decided to use them in a large walk-in closet and the utlity room. They are satisfactory in these locations. Attaching chains to the switches means draping them around the glass globe which is not the best arrangement. In general OK for their intended use but not the best performing fans I have purchased.

Pretty & quiet

Well Hunter fans have never let us down. Not only are they stylish and have a huge selection, but they are so quiet and really move the air in a room. We put this fan in our Master bedroom and it looks fantastic and we never hear it running despite being over our bed. Very classy and we love it!

Super quiet, easy to install

I used to buy ceiling fans from Home Depot or Lowe's and they promote their own brands. I was fed up with either HD or L brands because they force you to used special light bulb sizes only available in their store, and the CFL option is super expensive. This time I'm looking for fan without light but still will not buy HD or L brands. I did some research and found a lot of good reviews on Hunter fans. I bought 4 fans total this time and love them all. Can't believe how stable and quiet they are. Now I know what I'm missing out when I bought those cheap HD or L fans.

Good quality fan for the price

I'm mostly used to $250+ ceiling fan/light units, but I just installed this fan in our master bedroom and am really pleased with the quality. For a $120+ fan it has almost everything that a $200+ fan has as far as the look and quality of construction. The only minor things that it lacks are that out of the box the fan wobbled sightly on the high speed setting (it comes with a balancing kit which I used to resolve this problem). Also, the motor is not perfectly silent, though it is pretty quiet - certainly quieter than the sound of the wind that the fan creates. Aside from those two minor items, all is well and the price is certainly low for what you get.The one thing that you don't see in the pictures are the two pull-chains that dangle from opposite sides of the unit, just below the fan. The fan has a 75 watt halogen light inside the frosted-glass fixture. This puts out a reasonable amount of light, though it will not light up a room like a 3-bulb fixture that you see on the cheaper fan-light combos.I also wanted to note that Monte Carlo uses down-rods that are 1/2 inch in diameter, so you will want to purchase your down-rods from them (via Amazon, of course). The down-rods at the "big box" stores are all one inch in diameter. I installed this one with a matching 18 inch down-rod.

great product

The fan arrived very fast, and with the free shipping option. It looks great in my room and completes the remake of the room. I purchased a great couch that was red vinyl with chrome arms and feet, the fan completes the room. The quality is just as described. The air flow is better than expected. If you hear any noise when you install the fan, just check to see if the wires are not sticking up and hitting the blades. It is very quiet and cooling!! Would buy again :)

A sophisticated look at a bargain price

These fans immitate some of the much more expensive contemporary designs on the market and really do quite a nice job (at least in this colour). The look is very clean and minimalist, and indeed really quite practical as far as cleaning and care are concerned. The metal items are nicely finished and the blades appear to have been painted to a reasonable standard. I am not too fond of the manufacturer's name being stamped on the body of the fan but I positioned the fan so it was not readily visible so no biggie. Installation was very straightforward with no more assembly required than for fans of a similar design and I hit absolute no snags at all during assembly and hanging. A nice touch is that Monte Carlo provides chains and metal pulls with the fan (take note Hunter!). In operation, the fan is nice and quiet but the three fan speeds do appear to be slightly slower than an equivalent 52" Hunter fan I have in the house. I would also venture to say that this fan is slower than most equivalent fans from other manufacturers as well. I tested it and yes, high speed on this fan is only marginally faster than medium on my equivalent Hunter fan. This is not a problem for me as I don't tend to run my fans on high speed anyway but it is worth noting. Overall, I have been pleasantly surprised by this fan (which cost about a fifth of the price of the similarly designed but far more efficient Emerson Midway Eco fans) and trust it will now provide reliable service.

Decent ceiling fan. Inexpensive and looks good. Bright lights. But very little breeze, really, and wobbles quite a bit when running on high. Still...it was pretty cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.
